Setup Guide
Each section on the Setup page is an independent feature you can turn on or off. Start with just a greeting and layer on more as you need them.
Running a kennel or daycare mostly on the phone? This signup page preloads a greeting plus extract fields for owner, pet, service, dates, and care notes.
Greeting
Every caller hears a greeting when your agent picks up. You can type your own text or upload a recording. You can also pick a high quality voice to read it.
Voicemail
After the greeting, your agent records the caller's message and processes it. Choose from three modes.

SMS to Caller
Automatically text the caller after they hang up. Choose from three modes.

Get a text message on your own phone whenever someone leaves a voicemail. Choose from three modes.

Email to Caller
Send the caller an email after their call. Works the same way as SMS to Caller but over email. Choose from three modes.

Receive an email with the voicemail details. Pairs well with inbox rules or CRM forwarding. Choose from three modes.

Voice Selection
By default your greeting uses a managed StarAgent voice. You can pick from dozens of natural sounding voices or clone your own.
Response Review
Route every generated response through a reviewer before it reaches the caller. When enabled, SMS and email replies are held and sent to your designated reviewers first. Add up to four phone numbers or email addresses, separated by commas.
Preview
The Voicemail, SMS, and Email sections each have a Preview button next to Save. Clicking it generates a sample output using your current mode and template so you can see exactly what your agent will produce before going live.
The small arrow on the right side of the Preview button opens a scenario picker. Four built-in scenarios are included out of the box.
- Appointment request — a caller trying to schedule a time
- Urgent callback — someone who needs a reply right away
- Pricing inquiry — a prospective customer asking about cost
- Complaint or issue — an existing customer reporting a problem
You can also add your own scenarios. Custom scenarios are saved in your browser and available across all sections. Use them to test edge cases or build a library of inputs that match your real callers.
Integrations
Connect StarAgent to external tools. These live in the Integrations section at the bottom of the Setup page.
Webhooks
POST call data to any URL in real time. Connect to Zapier, N8N, Make, or your own backend.
BlueBubbles (iMessage)
Send iMessages from your agent using a Mac running BlueBubbles Server.
Zapier
Trigger Zaps when you miss a call or receive a voicemail.
N8N
Ingest StarAgent events into self-hosted N8N workflows.
